On behalf of the International Association of Emergency Managers at Metropolitan College of New York (IAEM at MCNY), it is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to our chapter website. I would like to thank you for your interest in our organization. Our organization is intended to enhance the experience of the entire Emergency and Disaster Management community at Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY), including current students, alumni, and professors.

 

IAEM at MCNY is a professional organization open to all students at MCNY. Our chapter is very active, sponsoring professional development opportunities, guest speakers, and networking events for its members, alumni and the community. In addition we coordinate the program’s commencement celebration and free luncheons for members at our monthly meetings. This year our chapter leadership has already created a strategic vision for greater student involvement, more professional development and networking opportunities, and increased opportunities for students to become directly involved in the field.

We also have a very strong relationship with our parent organization, the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). Our alumni and current students have held a variety of positions including President of Region XII (Student Region), and positions on the Conference, Membership and Marketing Committee's. In addition, our organization is always a very prominent force at the IAEM annual conference both as volunteers and participants.
